Updates

13 August 2010
I've added a new section to the website: links! For now, it includes links to some of my author friends. To have your site added to it, please contact me at katherine@katherinebell.net.

29 July 2010
A lot has happened since the last update, and I'm not really sure where to start!

I suppose, most significantly, Cacoethes Publishing and I have broken ties. The Preterhumans series will now be offered through Lulu.com. On that note, Verdant should be out by mid- to late- August, at the very latest. If you purchased a copy through Cacoethes and still have your proof of purchase, please email me at katherine@katherinebell.net, so we can arrange a copy for you. Now, granted, this probably means I will be paying for your copy out of my own pocket, but I want to do right by my readers, so please let me know.

Obviously, the site has been completely redesigned. I decided a brighter color scheme was in need here, as well as a new image. I like blue, so...

I've made some coding changes around the site as well. First off, I am cutting the number of pages accessible, from around 15 to less than 10. This is purely for my own purposes, to make things easier on the back end of the site. I've also added an appearances page, because...

I will be making my first book signing appearance this October at NecronomiCon. It's a small science fiction/fantasy convention in the Saint Petersburg/Tampa, Florida area, so please, if you're in the area (or at the con), stop by my author's table. I'll be selling and signing both Amaranth and Verdant -- and I would love to chat with anyone who stops by!

Another year is almost gone again. I still have no updates for Verdant: The Preterhumans Book 2 to give everyone yet, but please, continue to be patient and I'll see what can be done. If you have paid for a copy of Verdant, I would suggest contact Cacoethes about refunding you for your purchase because it looks like it's going to be quite some time before anything is ready, since I don't even have those promised edits yet. I would say it's quite out of my hands now. Sorry!

This site is still #1 on Yahoo Search, Google, Live Search, and SwagBucks, excluding references to the actress Catherine Bell. This is all thanks you guys, so from me to you, thanks!

As you have no doubt noticed, there's a new layout. I decided I wanted something a little new and different -- and a lot less pink. I'm not much of a pink girl.

My laptop went down on the 19th and seems to be down for good. Rather, it's repairable, but it seems that the repairs would cost more than a new one. So, there is a fundraiser ongoing here on the site. Any donation, even $1 or $5, would help immensely. I'm even going to go the extra mile, and whoever donates the highest amount will get a character named after them. Everyone who donates will get a dedication in the next book. Please, help a beginning author out, even if it's just to pass along the link to the fundraiser. Thanks!

I do still have the P.O. Box, if you want to get in touch with me via snail mail. It's:

12 August 2009
It sounds like things are holding steady at the moment. I have nothing to report regarding Verdant: The Preterhumans Book 2 since I still have yet to receive my edits for it, so ignore anything I may have said about a July release.

This site is #1 on Yahoo Search for my name (excluding the actress), #2 on Google, and #1 on SwagBucks. We're coming along great!

I'm working on a new series entitled The Seekers, which I hope to sell to a new publisher. The first book, Biscayne Beginnings, is about 120 pages completed. I would like to get another 80+ pages on it before I start trying to sell it, but I'm really happy with this series so far. I really like my characters, and it's so great that the whole series takes place in Florida.

I still have the PO Box, if anyone wants to get in touch with me. It's:

PO Box 3510

From the sound of things, everyone is getting their copies of the book in quickly and with to no difficulty, which is absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad to hear it!

This site is currently #2 on Google when you search for my name! And that's fantastic!

I now have a PO Box, so if you'd like to have your copy signed and I live too far away to sign it in person, just mail it to me with enough for return postage and I'll be more than thrilled to autograph it for you. If you'd like this, you can mail your copies to me at:

28 April 2009
A few Amazon orders of Amaranth are starting to ship. I haven't heard yet if they all have, though, but this is a start in the right direction.

Borders.com is finally showing Amaranth in its online catalog. This is now listed on the titles page as well.

24 April 2009
I've been getting emails this week saying that copies of Amaranth that were ordered directly from the publisher have been arriving. I can't imagine that the Amazon copies will be much longer. Unfortunately, Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million are still showing the wrong date: it being released in July instead of already being out.

I haven't received my copies yet, but that's because the post office is holding them hostage, more or less. The books ended up at my old address, rather than being forwarded to my new address. After this afternoon, though, I'll have a PO Box, so I can start receiving copies to sign, etc.

I also got to sign my first copy of Amaranth this morning.

27 March 2009 -- Continued
The official cover art for Verdant is now available on the site. Believe it or not, it was made by yours truly during a rainy afternoon (much like today) with Photoshop and stock.xchng.

Updates on the status of Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Books-A-Million should soon be forthcoming.

27 March 2009
I've now added links for Amaranth on Booksamillion.com. It's showing a July 2009 release date also, so hold off on purchasing there.

26 March 2009
I've added links for Amaranth on Barnes and Noble.com. I wouldn't purchase it there yet, though. For some reason, it has a release date of July 2009 there. Amazon has the correct date of tomorrow, however.

Amaranth is due to go to press tomorrow. You have no idea how proud that makes me.

24 March 2009
I updated the links to the books on Cacoethes website. I've also started looking at finishing up the first book in The Hunter Chronicles, so I can start sending it around: Samhain, Juno, etc.

I've revamped this updates page a bit to include fewer bullet points and more actual text. Bullet point summaries are far from my favorite thing in the world, so why inflict them on others?

11 March 2009
I added a link to my fund raiser to the site menu. My computer is dying and it doesn't look like it'll last through the next book, much less the next few.

27 February 2009
I added some information regarding Verdant to the complete title list page.I also added information regarding Verdant to the Preterhumans section. Finally, I made some small revisions to the Reviews page.

18 February 2009
I made a small revision to site scheme, so that it is tables instead of DIV layers. I updated links on the Titles page. I finally now have content in The Preterhumans section. I added an Amazon.com link added for Amaranth. Finally, I updated my information on the Author page.

19 November 2008
I've completed a total site redesign: There's a new color scheme, new layout, and greatly improved functionality. There's also more information on the Titles page. Finally, I've added links to pre-order books from titles page.

22 September 2008
I did a small site redesign and added List of Titles page, as well as The Preterhumans page links.

Three rounds of edits on Amaranth have been completed, and there are forty pages of first draft edits remaining on Verdant, as well as 800+ words on Ash.

30 May 2008
There have been some updates to the Bio page, as well as small redesigns to the site, including adding an image at the top of the screen.

Yesterday, I received a first draft image of the cover of Amaranth: The Preterhumans Book 1. It's looking pretty good! During June, I will be competing in National Novel Continuing Month with Verdant: The Preterhumans Book 2. I'm not anticipating being done by 30 June, but since I will also be working on it during July Novel Writing Month, I hope to be done by 31 July. This is because I want to be working on Ash: The Preterhumans Book 3 by August and maybe even be working on Azure: The Preterhumans Book 4 by National Novel Writing Month (November). And once I have The Preterhumans in a good place, I want to get back to work on my other series, The Hunter Chronicles.

25 April 2008
I've completed a minor overhaul of the Bio page here, including a new image.

24 April 2008
My contract and the full version of Amaranth have been mailed to Cacoethes.

23 April 2008
Amaranth: The Preterhumans Book 1 has been picked up by Cacoethes Publishing.

03 April 2008
I've begun work to embed online list of mythology bookmarks into the site. So far, no luck.

17 February 2008
I sent Amaranth to Juno Books today. I've started back to work on transliterating Dance in the Vampire Bund Volume Two. Finally, I did some editing to Verdant.

30 January 2008
The site is 100% set up for the information that is currently available, but please email me (kbell@katherinebell.net) if anything does not work.

Amaranth is still undergoing revisions. Verdant and Gods and Other Creatures are both underway.

01 January 2008
Amaranth has been completed. Revisions are underway.

29 November 2007
The site should be 99% set up for the information that is currently available, but please email me (kbell@katherinebell.net) if anything does not work. Google Ads added to the sidebar menu. A little click here and there would be appreciated.

Amaranth is within twenty or so pages of being done.

27 November 2007
The site is partially set up. It's a little lacking on content, though. That's for later. The blog is linked from the sidebar, as is this updates page. There is some coding wonkiness, but I hope that will work itself out soon.

EDIT - Code wonkiness worked out, and note to self: All pages need more content than a line or two because otherwise wonkiness (and little black lines across the text box) ensues.
